Piano

Jackie Kwong

I have been teaching piano at Raritan Music Center since 2016 and have assisted students in preparation for the ABRSM piano exams.

I started taking piano lessons when I was 5 after seeing my teacher played the piano to accompany our percussion performance in Kindergarten. I was very active in choirs, playing the violin and clarinet in orchestra and representing the school winning singing contests in high school. Music has exposed me to artistry and taught me about leadership, dependability and teamwork while having fun.

I teach piano as a hobby. Music helps us to see beauty in life. There is so much satisfaction in sharing the joy of music and helping children build confidence and a sense of accomplishment.

I am kind of old fashioned when it comes to the music I listen to for fun. When it comes to classical music, orchestral music from the Baroque and Classical period are my favorites because they provide me with a sense of optimism. I also like listening and playing Cantopop and J-pop.
